Some of you may be wondering, what is La Vie En Rose on Roscoe Road?

Well, for now… it is simply a blog about our home improvement journey. We believe everyone has a story to share!

Our story or fairy-tale began with our wedding and honeymoon in Italy. We are thankful to Alberto Peroni at Castello del Trebbio for introducing us to new friends and his hospitality during our stay at the castle grounds. We met the lovely musician, Lavini Beni from Lux Music. She recommended our romantic wedding song, La Vie En Rose or Life in Pink by Edith Pilaf. After returning from Italy, we reminisced about our travels. With some encouragement from friends, Federico and Barbara (photographers and artists) at Studio Fotografico Bacci and Barbara Fabris Artworks, Silvia Mazzei (photographer and website support) Silvia Mazzei Photo, and my husband, Ashley (therapist and contractor) — La Vie En Rose on Roscoe Road was born! Without their support, this website would not have come to fruition!

Whatever inspires you, whatever your passion is, whatever your dreams are, whatever your fears are… go for it.

With love,

Carrie

La Vie En Rose by Edith Pilaf

Eyes that gaze into mine,
A smile that is lost on his lips—
That is the unretouched portrait
Of the man to whom I belong.
When he takes me in his arms
And speaks softly to me,
I see life in rosy hues.
He tells me words of love,
Words of every day,
And in them I become something.
He has entered my heart,
A part of happiness
Whereof I understand the reason.
It’s he for me and I for him, throughout life,
He has told me, he has sworn to me, for life.
And from the things that I sense,
Now I can feel within me
My heart that beats.
In endless nights of love,
A great delight that comes about,
The pains and bothers are banished,
Happy, happy to die of love.
When he takes me in his arms
And speaks softly to me,
I see life in rosy hues.
He tells me words of love,
Words of every day,
And in them I become something.
He has entered my heart,
A part of happiness
Whereof I understand the reason.
It’s he for me and I for him, throughout life,
He has told me, he has sworn to me, for life.
And from the things that I sense,
Now I can feel within me
My heart that beats.
